IELTS Speaking Test
Part 1 (Interview)
- What do you like most about your hometown?
- How long have you been living there?
- What would you like to change about your town or city?
- What did you want to be when you were a child?
- When did you decide on the job or career you have now?
- What would you like to do in the future?
- What do you usually do with things that are broken?
- Have you ever repaired something by yourself?
- Do you think people should try to repair things instead of replacing them?
- Did your parents ever teach you how to fix or repair things at home?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe one gadget you couldn’t live without. You should say:
- what the gadget is
- how you use it in your daily life
- why it is important to you
and explain why you feel you couldn’t live without it.
Part 3 (Discussion)
- What kind of person do you think makes a good inventor?
- What qualities or characteristics are important for an inventor to have?
- Do you think an inventor needs to be a scientist?
- Should inventions that benefit society be funded by private companies or by the government?
- How do inventions influence people’s lives?
- What inventions do you think will become important in the future?
